The Story of Mill Reef
The story of one of the best-loved as well as one of the finest horses ever to be trained in England. Includes his complete racing record and a colored frontispiece which is similar to the dj image. Author is fully qualified to present this record having been the racing correspondent of the Sunday Telegraph and a well known TV commentator. Oaksley was also a leading amateur rider under National Hunt rules. This is an excellent biography of Mill Reef winner of the Derby, Eclipse, King George and Arc de Triomphe in the same season. As a four year old he won the Coronation Cup but then broke a leg. Remarkably he survived to have a successful career as a sire. 9x6. 155pp. Illustrated with 19 photographs, one colour and remainder b/w. Jacket design by John Riley.
